Poor Kelly Rowland. She wasn't feeling well on Friday. Hey ho. Here's my extra bit, delving into my warped (and slightly camp) mind even further than on-air.

Check out this hot-off-the-press pic of crinkly Harrison Ford and shiny Shia La Boeuf in next Spring's long-awaited new Indiana Jones pic, The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. Looks pretty much exactly like all the other Indy movies which is surely no bad thing. Hooray for botox!

The Superbad guys have sent us another exclusive video from behind the scenes on their UK tour - yay!

Can't wait to see it? Nope? Neither can we!

Oh... and check out the rather serious, older voice over man at the start - loving the way he tries to sound cool when the script makes him say "badass"...

Indy is back for the first time since 1989!! The new Indiana Jones movie is set in the 1950s and stars Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, John Hurt, Ray Winstone and Jim Broadbent. We'll have to wait a while to see it though, it's not out worldwide until May 22, 2008.

Bit of random picture trivia: this photo was actually taken by Steven Spielberg! (Courtesy Lucasfilm Ltd)

Want to be in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince? Well, get yourself down to Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London over the next couple of weekends and you could be in with a chance!

The makers of the movie are looking for 2 people (girl and boy) between the ages of 15 and 18 to play key roles in the next film

The castings will take place this Sunday(1st July) for the female role "Lavender Brown" and next Sunday(8th July) for the male role "Tom Riddle".

Now the serious bit... you have to be there from 10am (no queuing before 8am) and the queue will close at 1pm both days. You have to be resident in UK or Ireland and will have to show your passport as proof of age and nationality. You will fill in an application form, have your picture taken and will be briefly seen by the casting team. If they think you might be appropriate for the role, they will get in touch with you. Go as yourself - no make-up, no costumes and no high heels! These are the only roles they're looking for and if you're not between the age of 15-18 or are not resident in the UK or Ireland, and don't have the paperwork, you will not be able to make an application!

New family fantasy flick The Golden Compass, the first of the Northen Lights trilogy, is being released as a movie in December 2007  - yeah, I don't know why they've changed the title from the book either. Defo check out the website though as they've added a pretty cool section allowing you to meet your Daemon .

Tricks of the PR trade

March 28, 2007

There's a very frustrating thing that film companies are doing more and more and that's showing film journalists just a tiny, weeny bit of their latest product instead of the whole thing. I'm not talking trailers. I mean actual whole scenes of a film before it's out, chunks of the story instead of the entire thing, as if that's enough to satisfy our hunger.

The dark Newsbeat offices at Radio One are my through-the-night venue for Oscar viewing this year. Not quite Los Angeles I know, but having been there once for the awards - and never getting past the intense security surrounding Hollywood's Kodak Theatre - the news team's plasma is actually better than the real thing. I'm tired already and much as I love Jake Gyllenhaal, the poignantly slow Brokeback Mountain that’s showing on the telly before the awards is hardly keeping me awake.

The Oscars are on their way!

February 14, 2007

Certain categories may be as predictable as a Martin Lawrence movie but this year's Oscars have still got plenty of surprises up their designer sleeves.

For starters, there's the biggies - Best Picture and Best Director. At the BAFTAS, it was The Queen and United 93 that stole the show from their more showy American counterparts so nothing's for definite. But I'm still smelling that it's (finally) Marty Scorsese's year so expect The Departed to walk away with at least one of those gongs.
