Kevin Spacey came in to chat about his new film, '21', the old vic theatre and to eat some cake.

So we've "laid down out vocals", Betty Boo's twiddled the knobs and finally our 100% unofficial James Bond theme tune is done. Check out the lyrics and singalong karaoke-style when we play it on the show. Which I'm sure will be often.

QUANTUM OF SOLACE - BOND AID featuring BETTY BOO
(Written by King/Boo)

James:

You know his number,
You know his name.
You know his songs coz
They all sound the same.

His license says kill and
There’s no-one above him.
I’d love to be Bond but
I’m much more like McLovin.

Edith:

So stop being jealous
Of this golden spy.
It’s time to chillax
And just live and let die.

You can try all you want
In bow ties or tuxedos.
But this guy’s dead sexy
In just tight blue Speedos.

CHORUS

Both: Nobody does it better –
That we both can admit.
E: He’s just green with man-envy.
J: And she just thinks he’s well fit.

Both: So let’s stop pointing gold fingers
And just make up and kiss.
For an ounce of conclusion,
For a quantum…of solace.

James:

I copied his look
I drank vodka martini.
Even went for a swim in
a Halle Berry bikini.

Auditioned for his part
But I knew I was a goner
When they told me my acting
Was worse than Madonna.

Edith:

Stop trying so hard
You’ll never be cool that way.
You tutt and you sigh
But I say – sigh another day.

This guy’s a one-off
And I’m his Pussy Galore.
Don’t compare yourself coz
You’ll never roger more.

CHORUS

Both: Nobody does it better –
On that fact we’re alike.
J:You just like his Aston Martin.
E: So much better than your bike.

Both: But let’s stop pointing gold fingers
Coz it’s time to save face.
For a smidgen of silence,
For a quantum…of solace.

(SPOKEN)

Both: Nobody does it better –
We’re now both in compliance.
E: What is a “quantum of solace”?
J: Huh? I failed GCSE Science.

E: You must stop comparing…
J: …I’ll stop these things phasing me.
Coz I ain’t Daniel Craig.
E: You’re not even George Lazenby.

Both: Nobody does it better –
That we both can admit.
E: He’s just green with man-envy.
J: And she just thinks he’s well fit.

Both: So let’s stop pointing gold fingers
And just make up and kiss.
For an ounce of conclusion,
For a quantum…of solace.

Poor Kelly Rowland. She wasn't feeling well on Friday. Hey ho. Here's my extra bit, delving into my warped (and slightly camp) mind even further than on-air.

Check out this exclusive clip of the new film, Awake, starring Hayden Christensen and Jessica Alba - two incredibly beautiful but incredibly wooden actors. Didn't Jalba used to be good? Or was I just blinded by her doe eyes and pouty lips? Let us know what you think below.  The film is out on 4th April.

To celebrate the BBC 1 showing HSM 2 on Good Friday, we thought we'd let you listen to this again. It's me meeting the very lovely cast (well, lovely apart from Vanessa Hudgens). Most of the crusty film critics haven't even registered the HSM phenomenon but here on Edith's show, we love a dance movie!

Ruth came in for the DVD Clinic, where guests can talk about their favourite movies. And of course, we couldn't let her pop in without asking her all about new BBC Three comedy Gavin and Stacey

Jennifer Ellison was a bit moody when I interviewed her. Dunno why. Well, maybe it was coz in this photo I have a slightly sweaty back that she's resting her hand on. Not a good look. Anyhoo, she was very chipper on Richard & Judy the other day so I guess I just have to face up to not having The Madeley's animal magnetism. Luckily co-star Reece Shearsmith was very lovely and talked loads about their new horror movie The Cottage.

Our Bond theme is coming on a treat!

If you've been on another planet me and Edith are recording an alternative Bond theme for Quantam of Solace with the legend that is Betty Boo aka my songwriting hero Alison Clarkson.

She chatted to Edith about it today and there's even a sneaky peak at the end!

Mid-week Sneaky Peek

March 12, 2008

So the last few months haven't been the happiest for everyone's favourite blonde mophead Owen Wilson but in Drillbit Taylor (out at the end of March) he's back to his twinkle-eyed, drawling best. The script, about high school kids hiring a bodyguard to protect them from bullies, looks part-Mrs Doubtfire, part-School Of Rock and is co-written by the so-hot-right-now Seth Rogen. And yes, just as Seth put in a junior lookalike version of himself into Superbad he's also done the same here. Fat curly-haired child actors of Hollywood, your time has finally come.

Bond Aid!

March 05, 2008

So Edith and myself are attempting to record a Bond song for the new movie Quantum Of Solace and we've been offered help by 90s pop princess Betty Boo. Now working under her proper name (what? Betty Boo wasn't her real name?) of Alison Clarkson, she's a top songwriter to the stars. Anyone who wrote Pure & Simple for Hear'say gets my vote. Keep listening for more details, but here's a pic of Alison for you...

Watch this taster of the follow up to Step Up - the dancing is amazing!! The film is out on 21st March.

So I've just seen The Other Boleyn Girl. Man, you gotta love Hollywood. When it comes to English history, the perma-tanned producers out there certainly don't want to admit that our royals haven't always been blessed inthe looks department.

On the telly, Jonathan's Henry 8th pouted like a Page 3 stunner...

Here's the official line on the new Bond pic, Quantum Of Solace. Can't wait for the movie, obv, but the plot's pretty involved...

“‘Quantum of Solace’ continues the high octane adventures of James Bond (Daniel Craig) in ‘Casino Royale.’ Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal.

Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M (Judi Dench) interrogate Mr. White (Jesper Christensen), who reveals the organization which blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined. Forensic intelligence links an MI6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille (Olga Kurylenko), a woman who has her own vendetta.

Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious organization. On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world’s most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano (Joaquin Cosio). Using his associates in the organization, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in a Latin American country giving the General control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land.

In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists and even M, to unravel Greene’s sinister plan and stop his organization.”

Blimey!
